How to use the A-Z Directory
First go the section that covers your financial requirements. Please remember that there will be a few further appropriate funders in the section above and below your chosen one. For instance, a funder may go from £500 - £75k but would be in the under £50k section… so you might miss them if you are only researching the £50k - £250k section.
The list for each section is in A-Z format and is coded by region and sector to help you quickly identify the right groups for you.
The title of each company or funding group is prefixed with two capital letters. These are to identify the UK region they offer funding assistance in. They are as follows:
EA – East/East Anglia EM – East
Midlands EN – England
HC – Home Counties LO – London NE – North East
NI – Northern Ireland NW – North West SC –
Scotland
SE – South East SO – South SW – South West
WA - Wales WE – West
Country WM – West Midlands
UK – All Regions
These two letters are followed by four numbers, which are simply to identify the funder numerically. For example, if it’s WA-0020 then it’s only available in Wales and it’s number 20 in the A-Z list.

This is followed by the name/title of the group, specific fund or grant. This will be in a specific colour code so as to identify the sector it funds.

So, if it’s EM-0437: FILM DEVELOPMENT GRANT it will be funding for East Midlands, number 437 in the A-Z Directory and be for arts/film sector.
If there are two or more colours in the title then it applies to two or more sectors, not just one.
